I started drawing my own manga-styled comics at the age of 14 after admiring videogame booklets and reading early translated manga. I then decided that I enjoyed doing this very much and a good few years later found a bunch of likeminded people who liked to do that too. Thus Sweatdrop was born! And very happy I am too, within this productive little circle. I have some great mates in this circle. Yay!
Since graduation I have spent my free time drawing more comics than ever before. My illustrations have been published in various national UK magazines such as Shout and Just 17 and also for the Emotional Rescue greetings card range. You can see my art, paintings, illustration work and various nonsense within these webpages.
UK manga titles I have created include my Biomecha series, Boiled Spoons, Reluctant Soldier Princess Nami and all of the Sweatdrop anthologies to date. Since 1995 I have also had illustrations included in numerous UK anime fanzines - sadly none of which are actually in print any more, but are listed on my website. I was an avid reader of the UK Super Nintendo magazine Super Play; I used to contribute a lot of Envelope Art - luckily for me, a lot of which got printed!
In 2004 I lived in Japan for 9 months, teaching the English language to Japanese students of all ages, from 2yrs 9 months up to little old ladies! This was tough work, but I miss the friends I made, the mad shops and the food very, very much. I'd love to go back on holiday there in the near future...
